My main creative hobby is creating sculptures out of polymer clay. Many years ago I was inspired by all the amazing things I saw others do here and elsewhere online, so my hope is that I can inspire you as well! All you really need to get started (after one trip to a craft store) is persistence and dedication. Don't be afraid to "take chances, make mistakes, and get messy!"
Hello and thank you for visiting my page! Creating characters and creatures out of polymer clay is a hobby of mine that I would like to share with you. I hope that you can find some inspiration!

I have always been interested in sculpting things out of clay and I would occasionally play around making charms and small characters with the air-dry stuff or some of the cheap oven-bake clay. I started sculpting more seriously a few years ago when I looked at @emilySculpts' amazing in-progress photos that gave me a glimpse of how the professionals actually do it. I was amazed that it seemed like the only thing you really need from a fancy craft store is the clay, and everything else you can probably find at the hardware store (I know now that this is mostly true). All of a sudden this art became a lot less intimidating and it really inspired me to try and make something of my own.

Emily's book Fantasy Creatures in Clay was an immense help in getting me started. I am still learning and trying new things, but I find sculpting to be a very rewarding hobby. I started WebsterWorks when I thought I could finally make something that I would be proud to show others... and when I had run out of friends and family who would listen! So while I will certainly not be the most prolific sculptor out there, I hope to keep making more and learning as I go.

And even though you will probably never read this, thank you Emily for giving me the inspiration and knowledge to get me started!

Thank you so much for the watch and all the favorites! I haven't been doing much to get my name out there so it's not surprising haha.. but that makes it really nice when someone finds me! Just this week though I have started trying to get out there and meet other people. It's been so welcoming so far and I have people like you to thank for that! Thanks again!
