Hello and thank you for visiting my page! Creating characters and creatures out of polymer clay is a hobby of mine that I would like to share with you. I hope that you can find some inspiration!
I have always been interested in sculpting things out of clay and I would occasionally play around making charms and small characters with the air-dry stuff or some of the cheap oven-bake clay. I started sculpting more seriously a few years ago when I looked at @emilySculpts
' amazing in-progress photos that gave me a glimpse of how the professionals actually do it. I was amazed that it seemed like the only thing you really need from a fancy craft store is the clay, and everything else you can probably find at the hardware store (I know now that this is mostly
true). All of a sudden this art became a lot less intimidating and it really inspired me to try and make something of my own.
Emily's book Fantasy Creatures in Clay
was an immense help in getting me started. I am still learning and trying new things, but I find sculpting to be a very rewarding hobby. I started WebsterWorks when I thought I could finally make something that I would be proud to show others... and when I had run out of friends and family who would listen! So while I will certainly not be the most prolific sculptor out there, I hope to keep making more and learning as I go.
And even though you will probably never read this, thank you Emily for giving me the inspiration and knowledge to get me started!
